Looking in the Window: The Love of Christmas and a Giveaway

Merry Christmas!  Luke 2: 11-12, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. You will find a baby wrapped in cloths lying in a manger.” The greatest love the world has ever known started in a humble stable in Bethlehem when Jesus was born.  Later He suffered and died to conquer death for us. Knowing what he endured, it’s difficult to comprehend the depth of unconditional love He has for us. Before He was crucified, he preached a Gospel telling us to love one another.     Today with wars popping up and hate rhetoric we might wonder if we’ve run out of love, if we’ve abandoned it, or if we’ve forgotten where to find it. We can’t manufacture it. We can’t buy or demand it because we can’t dictate what’s in a person’s heart.  It must be given and received. It was given on Christmas in Bethlehem and again on the cross when Jesus died for our sins. We only need to accept it. Once we do, it lives inside us and spills over to others.  A Christmas Giveaway:

Looking in the Window: The Greatest Gift

“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9: 6 (NIV) At Christmas we thank God for the greatest gift the world has ever known. Christians are the luckiest people in the world. Jesus came to earth, suffered and died to save us. Then he rose from the dead and lives with us today. No matter what happens around us, He remains our rock to lean on and the most powerful force the world has ever known. He tells us if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains, nothing will be impossible for us. He’s always with us, and there’s neither nothing, nor no one who can defeat Him. He even conquered death! In Matthew 17: 23, Jesus says, ""...I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,' Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Christmas Messages

Christmas shines with God’s grace, forgiveness of sins and salvation. It’s difficult to fathom an unconditional love so great, or ever repay it. All I can do each year is let it fill my heart with joy as I stand in awe of it and accept God’s gift. A Miraculous Birth    Photo courtesy Photobucket “God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.” Luke 1: 26 - 27 “...the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1: 30 - 33 A Gospel of love “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” “Jesus replied, “ ‘Love the Lor

THE SILENT CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS!                                 MERRY CHRISTMAS !                          MERRY CHRISTMAS!                                                                MERRY CHRISTMAS!        MERRY CHRISTMAS! This year's Christmas reminds me of an exciting, wonderful movie on the television with the sound turned off. I walk into a mall, and with the exception of my local Sears store, there's no indication that it's anything except an ordinary day. I purchase a gift and the clerk says, "Thank you. Have a nice day." I want to scream. "This is a Christmas present. I'm buying it because it's Christmas!" I know the clerks are doing what they've been told, so I don't. There are throngs of people waiting in line to buy gifts in their stores. It doesn't look like an ordinary day. Who told them it was? Why? On December twenty-fifth Christians celebrate the birth of Christ. They've been doing it in this country as long

Merry Christmas

On December 25th, Christians celebrate the birth of Christ . Some believe Jesus was born on a different day, but they gather to remember his arrival on earth on December 25th. Jesus came into the world to die for mine and all man’s sins and preached a Gospel of love. He was tortured and put to death, but he rose from the dead. And His spirit lives today in the hearts and souls of Christians from the moment we accept Him. From then on, He is with us always from the darkest valley to the brightest hilltop. “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord.” (Luke 2: 8 – 11). Christ is born! “Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sa
