HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Rejoice! He Is Risen! We're turning the corner after a year of trials and tribulation, and Easter's the perfect time to give thanks to God for being with us, helping and comforting us. He is our rock. It's also time to remember Christ's Gospel of Love and His sacrifice for our salvation. It's time to think of new beginnings. Looking out the Window: Happiness

Happiness is seldom where you look for it. Sometimes where you find it, but always where you make it.  Anonymous There aren’t many words of wisdom more appropriate for 2020 than these, and there aren’t any reasons for happiness better than the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even in the dark times of our lives Jesus shines His light on us and lives within us bringing joy beyond that of the world. Once we’ve accepted Him and allowed Him to ignite His love in us, even the shadows lurking in society cannot blot it out. Colossians 3: 1- 3, tells us “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” In John 17: 14 - 19, when Jesus prays for his disciples, he says, “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but

When Is Christmas?

photo courtesy Google Some say Christ wasn’t born on December 25th. They claim Christians took the date from a Roman holiday honoring the sun or a sun god. While modern historians disagree about this theory many agree that the Romans revered the sun. Some claim Christians took the date to rival the pagan feasts that took place during the Winter Solstice, which honored a new age brought by the sun. Depending on location, the Winter Solstice occurs on or around December 25th. Every year in late October, festive decorations acknowledging the birth of Christ begin to appear in overwhelming numbers across the American landscape. By early December, a majority of homes have wreaths on their doors, candles in their windows, lights in the yards and red bows on their mailboxes. And jolly old Santa Claus sits in the middle of the mall to greet youngsters. Nativity scenes abound on people’s lawns, and this country’s biggest celebration continues until after December 25th, so when is Chri

Christ's Unconditional Love and Sacrifice “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) “‘We are going up to Jerusalem,’ he said, ‘and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law, They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.’” (Mark 10: 33 – 34) “On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them,

The Powerful, Miraculous Easter Message

Photo courtesy Photobucket Jesus lived among the Jews and the gentiles showing us his Gospel of love, telling us how to live in peace and care for each other. “...Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22: 37 – 39)  Photo courtesy Photobucket The suffering He endured illustrates how imperfect and cruel the world can be. “Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, ‘We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified…’” (Matthew 20: 17 -19) His crucifixion shows us God’s unconditional love. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him sh

JESUS LIVES

During Jesus' time on earth he preached a Gospel of love. When asked by the Sadducees and the Pharisees what was the greatest commandment, "Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself..." (Matthew 22: 37 -39) God sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins, so that we could have eternal life! “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) photo courtesy of Photobucket “‘We are going up to Jerusalem,’ he said, ‘and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law, They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him.
