Looking out the Window: Award-winning Author Kathleen Neely Talks About Her Journey with Jesus and Her New Book, Arms of Freedom

A Warm Welcome to Kathleen Neely Is Jesus real? Does the Bible change lives? I went to Sunday School as a child because it was the culturally correct thing to do. Mine was not a faith-based home. Somehow little nuggets of truth took root and began to grow. It was a slow journey. Let me rephrase that. It is a slow journey. Still ongoing. I once thought of the Bible as a book of do’s and don’ts. If I wanted to follow Jesus, I must do list #1 and must never do list #2. But that’s not what the Bible is. God’s word is life-changing. When I truly began to spend time with Jesus and study His word, I found my thought processes shifting.  My heart desired Him more than earthly treasures. ‘Doing’ became an overflow of ‘knowing.’ Before He changed my heart, I never thought of myself as a sinner. I didn’t do really bad things, so I viewed myself as ‘good.’ I remember the day that I recognized my sin. Pride. Selfishness. It sent me to my knees in tears. Donna Shares The Story Behind Her Book, A Train Ride to Heartbreak The idea for this story came from a love of a movie and a friend with a great story to share. The movie was “The Fugitive”, both the original series pilot and the more recent remake. I loved the idea of a train ride leading to a second chance. My friend had recently taken a train ride from Denver to San Francisco, and she shared several delightful stories. I wondered if a train ride might be like a cruise in that it would provide an insulated environment where the travelers might do something they’d never done before. If so, this was perfect fodder for a romance, much like the old TV show, “The Love Boat”. And then I saw “Murder on the Orient Express”, and as a lover of anything Agatha Christie, decided to incorporate

A Warm Welcome to Gay Lewis Gay will give away an e-Book of Clue Into Kindness.  To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below. Hi Gay, tell us a little about your writing and your upcoming book, Mattie's Choice. Coming Soon! Mattie's Choice I usually write faith and humor, and you find both those elements in my Sarah series.  Mattie’s Choice is different. Oh, don’t get me wrong, it’s still Christian. It details the faith of the characters. This book's premise is about choices, the way we interpret Scripture, right or wrong, and the choices we make based on what we perceive the Bible to say.  The choices we make have a ripple effect on the lives of others. There weren’t many resources in 1925 to help abused women, but they exist today, and I hope women will search for them. Mattie’s Choice is historical, and although my book is fiction, my husband’s family inspired the book. The excerpt you are about to read below is Mattie's ba
