Looking Out the Window: Carol McClain Talks about Her New Book, Borrowed Lives

A Warm Welcome to Carol McClain Carol Shares a devotional and talks about her new book, Borrowed Lives. The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: …, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees (Isaiah 35:1-3, KJV). We haven’t had an easy year. At times, the weight of loneliness, illness and grief felt like the plagues God sent on Egypt. For me, being over a thousand miles from my family, I fretted when Covid wracked five them and critically affected my sister. I feared when my son-in-law went to work on a Covid ward. My mother’s isolation in assisted living wrenched all our hearts. My own isolation often sent me into a meltdown over issues I’d never had problems with. On top of a pandemic, we had political turmoil—riots, protests, brutality. Society strengthene

Looking Out the Window: Kim McMahill Talks about Her New Suspense, A Dose of Danger

A Warm Welcome to Kim McMahill Hi Kim, first, tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in Wyoming, which is probably where I developed my sense of adventure and love of the outdoors. I started out writing non-fiction, and had over eighty travel and geographic articles appear in magazine and other publications. When not writing, I enjoy gardening, traveling, putting together jigsaw puzzles, listening to live music, college sports, and spending time with family. Tell us about your latest book. A Dose of Danger is a romantic suspense novel and the first in a developing series. When researcher Grace Talbot and her team discover a possible solution for weight loss they become targets of a

Looking Out the Window: Bonnie Leon Writes a Devotional About Jesus' Time in the Garden of Gethsemane. She's Giving Away a Copy of Her New Book, Joy Takes Flight.

Bonnie will give away a copy of her new book, Joy Takes Flight. To enter to win leave a comment with your email address. A Perfect Prayer Last Sunday, my pastor painted a vivid picture of Jesus' time in the Garden of Gethsemane the night of his arrest. Though I'm well acquainted with this portion of scripture I saw it with new eyes. I love that about God's Word--there is always more to learn. That night, Jesus knew what lay ahead--his arrest, brutal beatings, rejection, crucifixion, the weight of the world's sin laid upon him and the forsaking of The Father. He was the man/God. As a man he asked three of his disciples to wait with him. He wanted his friends by His side. I believe he also wanted the disciples to witness his humanity and a humility which is greater than pride. If the disciples had remained awake that night they would have seen the heart of their Lord. In Mark 14:33 & 34 it says, he was deeply distressed and in verse 34 Jesus tells the discip
