Looking Out The Window: Izzy James Talks About Her New Book, The Shopkeeper's Widow. Gives Away An E-Book

A Warm Welcome to Izzy James To enter to win the e-Book of The Shopkeeper's Widow leave an email address and a comment below. Hi Izzy, lots of writers were avid readers as children. What about you? If so, what did you read? Yes, and I still am. I pretty much read whatever I could get my hands on. I fell in love with reading when my Dad took my sisters and I to the library the first time. I got a book and the character in the book saw letters with colors. And I thought “Me too!” I requested a lamp to read by at night and I never looked back.  Let's talk about your writing. What themes do you write about? Lately my themes have been about freedom and second chances. Are you a plotter or pantzer? A mix. I start with a general outline that changes as I go as the characters come to life and tell me just what they think should happen next.  Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? Write. Read. Write some more. Read books on craft—anything by James Scott Bell—and practice what t

A Warm Welcome to Pamela Thibodeaux Hi Gail, thanks for having me on your blog today! I am a mother, grandmother, insurance agent and multi-published author of “Inspirational with an Edge!” ™ romance and women’s fiction. Hi Pamela. It's my pleasure to have you. Lots of writers were avid readers as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? Oh yes! From Dr. Seuss to Walter Farley’s Black Stallion series, I’ve read as long as I can remember. I began reading sweet romances around age twelve and evolved to Historical and traditional romance in middle/high school. Other than paranormal, I pretty much read across the board, but I almost always choose romance. I also read a lot of spiritual/self-help non-fiction. Tell us about your latest book . My Heart Weeps is the story of a woman’s journey through grief and parallels my own… After thirty years married to the man of her dreams, Melena Rhyker is devastated by her husband's death. Relief comes in the form of an artist'

Looking Out The Window: Ane Mulligan's New Release, In High Cotton, Kicks Off Her Georgia Magnolia Series. She'll Give Away An E-book.

A Warm Welcome to Ane Mulligan To enter to win the e-Book of In High Cotton  leave a comment and an email address below. Thank you, Gail, for allowing me to meet your readers. It’s my pleasure, Ane.  A big Georgia “hey” to all y’all. (That’s hello in Georgian). When people learn I’m an author, they want to know what kind of books I write. My brand is Southern-fried fiction. In all my books, no matter what era they’re set in, you’ll find an ensemble cast of strong women, facing life’s issues together. I grew up wanting sisters. I only had a brother; both of us were adopted. While we had an idyllic childhood, I longed for sisters. I gathered girl friends around me in place of nonexistent sisters. That continued into adulthood, and those friendships influenced my writing. Of course, little did I know what God had in store for me. The story of my discovery of my birth sisters is  here  on my website. In High Cotton is the first in my Georgia Magnolias series. It’s

Looking Out The Window: American Christian Fiction Writers August New Releases

More in-depth descriptions of these books can be found on the ACFW Fiction Finder website . Contemporary Romance: The Price of Dreams by Toni Shiloh -- Ballet has always been my life, but one terrible moment may have destroyed everything I’ve worked so hard for—especially my title of Octavia Ricci, principal ballerina. I thought for sure my physical therapist, Dr. Noah Wright, could help me obtain my dream once more, but he wants more than I’m prepared to give. I’ve seen firsthand the trials of interracial relationships. I’m a product of one myself and promised I’d never put my hopefully-someday kids through that drama. Everyone keeps telling me to let go of other people’s expectations, but I’m just not sure I can. Besides, if my dreams of returning to ballet are futile, what hope is there in seeking unconditional love? (Contemporary Romance, Independently Published) Peace in the Valley by Kelly Irvin -- After a devastating wildfire sweeps through her t

Looking out the Window: Ramona Cecil Talks About The Time For Healing. Gives Away An E-book

A Warm Welcome to Ramona Cecil To enter to win the e-Book of The Time for Healing leave an email address and a comment below. Hi Ramona, first, tell us a little about yourself. Hi! I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, and award-winning author of historical romance novels for the Christian market. I’m a life-long resident of southern Indiana and, like The Time for Healing, most of my stories are set in my Hoosier State. Lots of writers liked to read as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? Yes. Voracious! I learned to read before I started school and always had my nose in a book. The librarians knew me well, and my allowance usually went toward buying books at the dime store or from the order sheet my teachers would hand out listing age-appropriate books students could purchase. Some of my favorite books were by the Hoosier author Gene Stratton Porter. Of hers, Laddie was my favorite. Why do you write? It’s just who I am. I’ve written creatively (poet
