Linda relates an inspirational account of her writing journey.   Never Too Late To Dream I believe it’s never too late to accomplish one’s dreams. Some people have a bucket list that has daring things to do or something they longed to do for years. It is never too late and you are never too old to do something you have longed to do.  After raising six daughters and believing it is never too late to dream, I decided to go back to college. It was a scary thing to do and I don’t know why I was so worried. At the age of 50, I graduated from college with a Theatre and Arts Degree. After that, I performed for a concert series. It was unbelievably fun and enjoyable until I got reflux and lost my voice. Feeling discouraged, I didn’t know what to do with my life. But . . . when one door is closed, God opens ano

Hi Erin, first, tell us a little about yourself. I’m Erin, just a child of the King. I have four grown children and three grands. I live in central Iowa and enjoy puttering in my yard, which mostly equates to pulling weeds. My secret indulgence is regular M & Ms.  Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read? I read everything that was appealing to a child of the 60s. When the teacher unpacked the Scholastic book order each month, she gave each child their 2-3 books and then handed the box with the remaining dozen+ books to me.  Tell us about your latest book. This book is called Sisters Ever After and is very close to my heart. Without giving away anything, it’s a story about learning to trust God’s timing. Two people meet under circumstances that pit them against o

Hi Pat, first, tell us a little about yourself.  During the past fifty-plus years my high-school-sweetheart husband and I have struggled and triumphed through life’s peaks and valleys. We raised a son and a daughter and welcomed four grandchildren into our family. One precious granddaughter lives with the angels. We adore spending time with our family.  Sixteen years ago, Tim and I retired the same day, me from a twenty-seven-year corporate career with an international beauty company. We bought a Corvette, finished decorating our home, and checked off every item on our travel bucket list. Now I’m pursuing career number two as an author and proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams.  Many writers were avid readers as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? I remember visiting the mobile library which

Historical Romance is about the adventure of living in a different time period. The romance draws the reader into a world of wonder, but the mystery keeps you turning the pages.  What was romance like in the 19th century? Suko’s Notebook wrote, “Is it just me, or are love stories set in the past more romantic than those set in the present day?” Set in the 1800s, each of the Willow Valley stories has humor, adventure, romance, and mystery. After reading Tales of Willow Valley , Author Gail Pallotta wrote: “Ms. Clarke brings us five love stories based on the lives of real people and true events. The heroines are brave, spunky women who attract their suitor

A Warm Welcome to Terri Gillespie Terri will give away a signed hardback devotional book. To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below. Hi Terri, first, tell us a little about yourself.  I suppose I can begin with I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. From the time I could press the keys of my grandmother’s ancient Royal typewriter, I have wanted to write stories. It has been a long journey with twists and turns and topsy-turvey experiences, but after sixty years, here I am. It’s never too late. Many writers were avid readers as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? I had undiagnosed reading issues. Reading for me was a challenge. My parents didn’t read to me as a child, so despite a passion for writing and telling stories, I struggled with reading. My grandmother was a storyteller and my best friend. Some of my best memories are of us swinging on the porch swing and her telling me these amazing tales—some of them true. It wasn’t until my younger sisters wer

Tell us a little about yourself. I’m a write-at-home mom of four. I moved around a lot as a child (my dad was in the military and then he had a job that transferred him often) before settling in Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia and graduated with an A.B.J. in Journalism and a J.D. degree in Law, and it’s also where I met my husband.  When I’m not reading or writing, I love classic movies, especially those with Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart. I also love walking and exploring Georgia. Cloudland Canyon and Tallulah Gorge are two of my favorites. You can often find me reading with a cup of tea at my side. Lots of writers were avid readers as children. What about you? If

I grew up as a missionary kid in Spain and have lived a total of 21 years in Japan, Spain, England, and Germany. As much as I loved experiencing the world, I’m more than happy to settle down in Texas with my USAF husband, two high schoolers, and two German shepherds. Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read?  I struggled in school and was a delayed reader, but once I discovered books, I never turned back. My favorites were books about horses. What do you write? A Warm Welcome To Kathleen Neely Kathleen will give away either an eBook or a print book (U.S. Residents only for print). To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below. Many years ago, fresh out of college with my shiny new teaching certificate, I landed my first teaching position. Fourth grade. I walked around my empty classroom, the four walls that would be my domain for shaping young lives, and had a strange feeling. Me—a teacher?  How long until they all figure out that I’m out of my element, that I’m an imposter with no idea what I’m doing? Many years have passed since that fearsome first day. By the end of that school year, my confidence had grown and I settled into a career that I would love and eventually miss. Years later, my principal encouraged me to go into administration. I earned my principal’s certification and worked in leadership until my retirement. Today, I’m a writer. That truth took some time to solidify in my mind. When I began writing,

Looking In The Window: I'm Chatting With My Writing Partner, Lisa Lickel, About Writing And Books. She'll Give Away An E-book Of Meander Scar

A Warm Welcome to Lisa Lickel Lisa will give away an e-Book of  Meander Scar. To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below.  I’ve had the privilege of writing with Lisa for the past six years. Not only do I benefit from her critiques, but I also enjoy reading her books. Centrifugal Force , one she's discussing today, held me spellbound with the intensity, mystery, family dynamics, and foreign intrigue Lisa put into it. When I finished a chapter, I tried to scroll down to read the one she hadn’t written yet, so it’s a page turner. Thank you, Gail. You’ve always been encouraging, and very good at forcing me to keep up with you, or withholding your own work from me when I fell behind you. I wasn’t sure I liked that at first, but I came to admire your technique in knowing me better than I knew myself. Since that first book we’ve worked on several together. Actually, it’s the other way around. You’re the one who keeps me on task. I have to stay ahead, so I ca

A Warm Welcome to Laura Hilton Laura will give away EITHER an ebook OR a print book (US only). Winner’s choice. To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below. Glass Blowing and The Christmas Admirer By Laura V. Hilton Right before my youngest son joined the Coast Guard we went on a short mini-vacation to Springfield, Missouri, actually going farther north almost to Kansas City to see another Amish community near there in Osceola. There is a cheese factory there and my son wanted to try some of their cheeses – such as a ghost pepper cheese. Too spicy for me. But upon the return to Springfield, Steve read about a glass blowers shop in the downtown area. We found the address and went to visit it. It is owned by an older gentleman and his son. They had a display area set up where people could see their wares and buy them and then a work area where the son mostly worked, and talked about how the fire needed to be so hot, and showed us how he worked and made
