Looking out the Window: Celebrate with Jean Pike. It's Release Day for Her New Book, About the Little Things

A Warm Welcome to Jean Pike Jean talks about Jesus' intervention in her life as well as His intervention in the life of the heroine in   About the Little Things.          Miracles and Answered Prayer Beautiful and restless, Rochelle Delany makes choices as a young woman that almost ruin her life. As the story opens, she seeks to escape the nightmare of her present by fleeing back to her past. But things have changed in the small town of Redford’s Crossing, and she wonders if a person can ever really go home again. She grew up going to church but because of choices she made and choices that were forced on her she has been away from God for a long time. There is a scene in which Rochelle’s past pays a visit to her present and she finds herself in a dire situation. She cries out to God, and God steps in in a most miraculous way.  I’ve seen too many miracles to ever doubt that Jesus is real. He answers prayer in his own way and time. but no praye...

One such place is in Psalms 22.  This chapter describes his suffering and death in graphic language in the first twenty-one verses.  The remainder of that chapter gives an uplifting message of triumph. We see early in the chapter he was all alone, he was mistreated, scoffed, stared at, and surrounded by enemies.  There is a description of what crucifixion did to his body.  He was scourged, his bones stared, his hands and feet pierced, his heart melted which probably referred to his heart bursting due too great anguish which can result in destruction of the heart, thus causing his early death after being on the ...

Looking Out The Window: Prayer, Miracles and Testimonies. Ada Brownell Talks About Her Collection of Fifty-five Articles, What Prayer Can Do

A Warm Welcome to Ada Brownell Hi Ada, first, tell us a little about yourself. I’ve been writing for decades and yet I still discover things I want to tell people through the printed page. One of the ways to do this is op-ed pieces for the two newspapers who accept my opinion writing. My next one will be about how Christian missionaries have changed the world in my lifetime. Why do you write? I feel called by God to share some of the important things in life I’ve seen and learned. When I retired from the newspaper, I thought of writing medical material, such as how to care for a baby who has the croup, how to bring down a fever, and that sort thing that new parents don’t seem to know how to do. We lived 90 miles from a doctor when my first two children were young and there are still people like that. But using my talent strictly for Lord won. Tell us about your latest book. What Prayer Can Do is a collection of 55 of my articles published in The Pentecostal Evan...

Christmas Messages

Christmas shines with God’s grace, forgiveness of sins and salvation. It’s difficult to fathom an unconditional love so great, or ever repay it. All I can do each year is let it fill my heart with joy as I stand in awe of it and accept God’s gift. A Miraculous Birth    Photo courtesy Photobucket “God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.” Luke 1: 26 - 27 “...the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1: 30 - 33 A Gospel of love “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” “Jesus repli...
