Thank you for hosting me on your blog. Itā€™s great to be here! I am a wife, mom, and author of several books and numerous magazine articles. I also write a humor blog ā€œA Day in the Life of a Wife, Mom, and Authorā€ (www.pennyzeller.wordpress.com). I am an active volunteer in my community, serving as a womenā€™s Bible study small-group leader and co-organizing a womenā€™s prayer group. My passion is to use the gift of the written word to glorify God and to benefit His Kingdom. I devote my time to assisting and nurturing women and children into a closer relationship with God. Looking Out the Window: Shannon Vannatter's Touching Mother's Day Devotional

WRITER MOM ā€œLo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.ā€ (Psalm 127:3) The offer made my mouth water. Imagine a conference promising a free critique by a professional editor. It was the stuff of a starving writerā€™s dreams. My dilemma: as a stay-at-home mom, I rarely spent more than a few hours away from my eight-month old son. An editor willing to evaluate my manuscript over a casual dinner beckoned to me. I expected to miss my baby, but never anticipated just how badly. As I prepared to leave that morning, hubby walked me to the car holding our son. A quick kiss goodbye and my guys turned toward the house. Our sonā€™s questioning gaze over his fatherā€™s shoulder almost convinced me to stay home. At the conference, though the speaker interested me, thoughts...

Looking Out the Window: Welcome Inspirational Writer Jennifer Slattery

Multi-faceted Christian writer Jennifer Slattery talks about Clash of the Titles and her new romance novel. First, tell us a little about yourself. Wow, thatā€™s a loaded question, Gail. First and foremost, Iā€™m a follower of Christ who wants to bring Him glory in all I do. Everything else hinges on that. Second, Iā€™m a wife, mother, Calvary Bible College student and writer. Were you an avid reader as a child? What did you read? I was, although I always had a tendency to ā€œcheck outā€ and venture into my own story. I went through a period where I was fascinated by Shakespeare, and I loved the Odyssey. I know, weird. I think Iā€™ve always enjoyed ā€œsymbolicā€ writing. If there wasnā€™t a hidden meaning, Iā€™d create one. grin. But I like things that have multi-layers that you can read again and again, digging a bit deeper each time. I enjoy symbolism also. What do you write? Wow, another loaded question. I write a bit of everything. As the Marketing Representative for Clash of the Titles, I do a lot ...
