It's my pleasure.  One of the most common questions I get asked about my books is where I get my ideas.  My latest novel, A Dim Hope, came about from a dream. This isn’t all that strange for me; I dream in color all the time! This dream, though, and the way the novel came about, is special to me. You see, my nine-year-old daughter was in the hospital at the time. She was in the intensive care unit at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she had been battling her second cancer diagnosis. Emma wasn’t doing well. I dreamt about two sisters—one was healthy, and one was not. The healthy sister wanted to save the unhealthy sister, and the method of saving would come through a yellow stone set in a leather bracelet. The dream involved a quest. This interesting question is one that some may ponder for a period of time, while others will have an immediate answer.  I had a prompt answer, but I also dove deeper into my thoughts in order to present a more substantial rationalization for my belief. My immediate response to the question generated another question. Is Jesus real? Simple answer.  Yes. Then I stepped back and asked myself how we know anyone we have heard about in history is real.
