Looking In The Window: The Weight of a Tiny Acorn

  I heard something hit my deck like a ten-pound weight. I looked out the window, and there lay an acorn.  So, how much could an acorn weigh? I looked it up. Roughly, not quite an ounce for a small one and around three ounces for a large one. They’ve continued to pound the boards on my deck, and it’s covered in nuts from our mighty oak trees.  As a Christian I can see myself as one of those tiny acorns and ask what difference could I possibly make in a world filled with so many people with so many opinions. But today as another acorn hit a different voice spoke to me. Armed with the strength and power of the Gospel, how much weight could a Christian carry if he or she spreads the Good News over the world like millions of acorns? “You are the light of the world.
