Looking out the Window: Katie Clark Shares the Story Behind Her New Book, A Dim Hope, Releasing on September 22

A Warm Welcome to Katie Clark Thanks so much for having me here! It's my pleasure.  One of the most common questions I get asked about my books is where I get my ideas.  My latest novel, A Dim Hope, came about from a dream. This isn’t all that strange for me; I dream in color all the time! This dream, though, and the way the novel came about, is special to me. You see, my nine-year-old daughter was in the hospital at the time. She was in the intensive care unit at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she had been battling her second cancer diagnosis. Emma wasn’t doing well. I dreamt about two sisters—one was healthy, and one was not. The healthy sister wanted to save the unhealthy sister, and the method of saving would come through a yellow stone set in a leather bracelet. The dream involved a quest. When I woke from my dream, I told Emma all about it. She loved hearing my stories, and she had talked over lots of story points with me in years past. This was the last book s

Hello, Gail. Zoe, Brody, and Sandy here from 3 Dogs and Their Authors. Every time we go to the park, friends always ask what it’s like to be an author’s dog. So, here’s the scoop on our lives as the inaugural members of PAW (Puppies Assigned to Writers). Want to know more? Follow us on  Instagram  And thanks for letting us visit your blog. SANDY: My author is Suzy Parish, and she smells of coconuts, which I think is exceptionally yummy and makes me hungry. She's fun to play with until she sits at her desk. BRODY:  My author is Kathleen Neely. What I like best about her is that she feeds me. Sometimes she slips me something that isn’t part of my regular diet, like the crust on her pizza. I love that she gives me the best part.  ZOE:  My author is Carol James. The thing she enjoys most (besides walking with me) are rectangles. She calls them computers, books, e-readers, or TV. She spends a lot of our at-home time staring at them. I often sit beside her because she likes my compa

Looking Out The Window: Tracy Wainwright Talks About Her New Book, In An Instant. Gives Away An E-book.

A Warm Welcome to Tracy Wainwright Tracy will give away an eBook of In An Instant . To enter to win leave a comment and an email address below. Hi Tracy, first, tell us a little about yourself. I’m a wife and homeschooling mother of 4. We’re in a great parenting place with our children now aged 10 to 16 with the first one already dual enrolled in college. We are also first time puppy owners with the most adorable puppy in the world who’s keeping us on our toes. We love summers where we spend as much time as possible playing on the water, fall where we roast way too many hot dogs and marshmallows, winter to snuggle in and watch family movies, and every spring we love being able to get out in the fresh air again. Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read? I didn’t start out loving to read, but ended up reading out of self-preservation, as all the rest of my family spent hours and hours with their noses in books. I read lots of Judy Blume, Sweet Valle

A Warm Welcome to Lillian Duncan Lillian will give away an e-book of Puzzle House To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below Congratulations, Lillian, on being a finalist for the prestigious Carol Award. Tell us about  Puzzle House. Puzzle House  is the book I never wanted to write! What??? Let me explain. Rachel Summers, the main character in my new book, Puzzle House, has brain tumors due to Neurofibromatosis Type 2. Neuro…What? That’s what I said when my doctor told me I had brain tumors because of something called Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2 for short) in 2012. The tumors are almost always benign, but there’s two meanings for benign. One being non-cancerous and the other being harmless. The good news is that my tumors are not cancerous, the bad news is they are definitely not harmless. That’s why I say Puzzle House is the book I never wanted to write. I would never have written it if it weren’t for the brain tumors. But Romans 8: 28 promises

Some of my novels include Escape to Big Fork Lake, Redemption in Big Fork Lake, Stone of Destiny and Moment’s with God’s Word. Many writers loved to read as children. Did you. If so, what did you read? Yes, I enjoyed Nancy Drew books most of all. LOL, Now you know my age.   I’m a big Nancy Drew fan, and my daughter is also, so I'm still guessing. LOL  Let's talk about your writing. Why do you write? I write to help readers see that God never gives up on people. He is always willing to welcome a repetitive heart. For me, it’s a part of my ministry.  Tell us about your latest book. Sparks of Love

To enter to win Sherri's e-book leave a comment and an email address. Welcome Sherri! Let's talk about your writing. Why do you write the kind of books you do?   I want to uplift readers and share with them the wonderful goodness that God has allowed me to see. I want readers to feel hope and to know that there’s always an answer to their troubles. I also want to entertain them, make them laugh, make them think, and make them swoon. I am also passionate about purity and sexual integrity. I have been married for almost twenty-five years. In those twenty-five years, we’ve seen many friends experience failed marriages due to infidelity. We have two children who we’ve raised to value their purity and to save it for the spouse God has for them. I’ve worked with the youth ministry at church on and off for ten years and seen the devastation that comes when kids choose not to wait. And more rece
