Her picky daughter (ME!) didn’t like cherries, so my request always came with certain requirements, “Yes, please, but no cherries.” My mother kindly--and patiently, probably--made sure I had the delicious crunchy crust with lots of cherry juice but no cherries (why I liked cherry juice, but not cherries is something I’ll never understand).
