Dad’s beaten, the family farm destroyed and Jack’s true love, Gwendolyn Bante, kidnapped. Jack’s undercover operation reveals Gwenie’s a captive atop a mountain accessible only by helicopter. Reaching her is a dangerous expedition even for a champion rock climber like Jack. However, a Greenthumb Acres employee plants a miraculous seed from Heaven for the rescue. Suspense mounts as Jack scales the perilous cliff to face a brute and a treacherous descent in this retelling of the fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk. Two five-star reviews When I was a youngster, I loved fairy tales. Now that I'm an adult, this book showed me I still do. Fantasy? Sure, and we need that in our world today. Suspense? You betcha! Romance? Yep, it is in there too. Adventure? Oh my, yes! Throw in some Christian inspiration, and you have a wonderful read. The tale starts off with Jack and Gw

Looking Out the Window: Allyson Carter Talks about Her New Book, Hearts Undone

A Warm Welcome to Allyson Carter Allyson will give away an e-book. To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below   Hi Allyson, first, tell us a little about yourself .  I’m a mama and wife. I have 4 kids with three on the autism spectrum. Our children are homeschooled. Were you an avid reader as a child? I was! What did you read? Wow, that’s a loaded question. I read so many different things. I loved Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys . Really, there were too many different genres that I would read. Where do you get ideas for your books? Everywhere. That’s pretty much where I get my ideas. It can come from a song I heard on the radio, something I read in a newspaper or even on the news. Do you have to juggle writing with a job, family responsibilities or other obligations? Yes I do. How do you balance it? Some days I’m not sure. The only way I get anything done is with God’s help. I try and stick to a schedule, which benefits my kids. My hubby is hel

Looking Out the Window: LoRee Peery Talks About Her New Book, Where Hearts Meet, Writing and Praying Bible Passages

A Warm Welcome to LoRee Peery LoRee will give away a PDF copy of Where Hearts Meet. To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below. Hi LoRee, let's talk about your writing. What led you to it? I’m convinced writing is what the Lord wants me to do at this time in my life. I don’t know what else I’d spend my time on. I believe that without faith I cannot please God. Without faith my words can’t bring Him glory. So I need to trust Him from the get-go for words that ultimately honor Him. Writers have viewed the action of writing as a compulsion, a drive, a conviction, even as a need. It’s all in how a person views what we do. I once heard an author say, “I cannot not write.” That sums up why I write. Where do you get ideas for your books? Ideas are everywhere. I carry note paper in my purse and have it throughout the house for the times Bible verses, concepts, characters, dialogue, settings, or random ideas strike. I’ve started with character, a place, a situa

A Warm Welcome to Gay Lewis   Gay will give away a Kindle e-book of Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island . To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below. Hi Gay, first, tell us a little about yourself . I’m a retired interior designer, a current pastor’s wife, and mother to grown children. Two daughters live near me in Texas, and one moved to Kentucky. I’m in a small town west of Houston but drive to the city for shopping. My driving record scares everyone, including me. As I write this, my husband is in the garage trying to repair my latest scrape with the side of our garage. Many writers loved to read as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? I grew up in Texas and hated heat. As a child, I stayed indoors with a book, magazine, anything I could get my hands on. I read the Louisa May Alcott books many times over. I also loved Nancy Drew. Today the books I choose are usually romance or paranormal. I just finished Saint Odd: An Odd Thom

Looking Out the Window: Lillian Duncan Talks about Facing Adversity and Tells Us How in God, Life & Hula Hoops, Her New Book.

A Warm Welcome to Lillian Duncan Lillian will give away EITHER a PDF OR Kindle copy of her new book, God, Life and Hula Hoops. To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below. Even a Hula Hoop! I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, when the going gets tough, the tough get going or maybe they go shopping. I forget which it is. But what about writers? When the going gets tough, they write! And so I have. God, Life and Hula Hoops is the result. In 2012 I was diagnosed with bilateral brain tumors. Fortunately they were benign, but as I like to say, there are two definitions for benign. One being non- cancerous, the other meaning harmless—which my brain tumors definitely are not! My life took a dramatic turn with the diagnosis and is still topsy-turvy to this day. Life isn’t always easy, but there is always hope because God doesn’t leave us alone in our battles. Even before I needed them, God taught me what I needed to stay in his peace and joy, in spite of all t

Looking Out the Window: Christine Lindsay Talks about Veiled at Midnight, the Third Book in Her Twilight of the British Raj Series. Gives Away an e-Book of Each Title in the Trilogy.

A Warm Welcome to Christine Lindsay     Christine will give away an e-book of all three novels in her series. To enter to win them leave a comment and an e-mail address below.    A MOST DISREPUTABLE PAST—by Christine Lindsay I’ll come clean with you. I’m one of those people with a “past”. Yes, today I stand on stages and share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with hundreds of women at a time. But, like Mary Magdalene I’m a woman with a past—a past that makes me blush. A past that I don’t share the details of—details I don’t want my children to know about—I’d cringe embarrassment and shame.  But the most important reason I don’t blurt out all my shameful past is because I don’t have to. Years ago when I put my faith in Jesus Christ I became a new woman—a woman worthy of wearing white when I walked up the aisle to marry my husband. There was nothing in my disreputable past that could not be washed away by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Still though, I m
