A Warm Welcome to Ane Mulligan To enter to win the e-Book of In High Cotton  leave a comment and an email address below. Thank you, Gail, for allowing me to meet your readers. It’s my pleasure, Ane.  A big Georgia “hey” to all y’all. (That’s hello in Georgian). When people learn I’m an author, they want to know what kind of books I write. My brand is Southern-fried fiction. In all my books, no matter what era they’re set in, you’ll find an ensemble cast of strong women, facing life’s issues together. I grew up wanting sisters. I only had a brother; both of us were adopted. While we had an idyllic childhood, I longed for sisters. I gathered girl friends around me in place of nonexistent sisters. Besides, if my dreams of returning to ballet are futile, what hope is there in seeking unconditional love? I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, and award-winning author of historical romance novels for the Christian market. I’m a life-long resident of southern Indiana and, like The Time for Healing, most of my stories are set in my Hoosier State. Lots of writers liked to read as children. How about you? If so, what did you read? Yes. Voracious! I learned to read before I started school and always had my nose in a book. The librarians knew me well, and my allowance usually went toward buying books at the dime store or from the order sheet my teachers would hand out listing age-appropriate books students could purchase. Some of my favorite books were by the Hoosier author Gene Stratton Porter. Of hers, Laddie was my favorite. Why do you write? It’s just who I am. I’ve written creatively (poet
