Hi Terri, first, tell us a little about yourself.  I suppose I can begin with I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. From the time I could press the keys of my grandmother’s ancient Royal typewriter, I have wanted to write stories. Some of my best memories are of us swinging on the porch swing and her telling me these amazing tales—some of them true. It wasn’t until my younger sisters wer

Tell us a little about yourself. I’m a write-at-home mom of four. I moved around a lot as a child (my dad was in the military and then he had a job that transferred him often) before settling in Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia and graduated with an A.B.J. in Journalism and a J.D. degree in Law, and it’s also where I met my husband.  When I’m not reading or writing, I love classic movies, especially those with Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart. I also love walking and exploring Georgia. Cloudland Canyon and Tallulah Gorge are two of my favorites. You can often find me reading with a cup of tea at my side. Lots of writers were avid readers as children. What about you? If

Looking In The Window: The Weight of a Tiny Acorn

I heard something hit my deck like a ten-pound weight. I looked out the window, and there lay an acorn.  So, how much could an acorn weigh? I looked it up. Roughly, not quite an ounce for a small one and around three ounces for a large one. They’ve continued to pound the boards on my deck, and it’s covered in nuts from our mighty oak trees.  As a Christian I can see myself as one of those tiny acorns and ask what difference could I possibly make in a world filled with so many people with so many opinions. But today as another acorn hit a different voice spoke to me. Armed with the strength and power of the Gospel, how much weight could a Christian carry if he or she spreads the Good News over the world like millions of acorns? “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that the
