Danica Bennett isn't sure what she hates more...her job or the fact that she's good at it.  As one of the many Hollywood paparazzi, she lives her life incognito and sneaks around trying to get the best shot of the latest star.  When she is mistaken for an extra on a new, up and coming TV show, her own star rises and she becomes the one being photographed.  Add that to the fact that she's falling for her co-star, Eliot Lane, and Danica is in a whole heap of trouble.

Brooke Williams writes in a sleep-deprived state while her daughters nap. Her romantic comedy is best read in the same state. Brooke has twelve years of radio in her background, both behind the scenes and on the air. Today, Brooke stays at home with her daughters and works as a freelance writer for a variety of companies. When she isn’t working for paying clients, she makes things up, which results in books like “Accept this Dandelion.”  Brooke is also the author of "Accept this Dandelion," “Wrong Place, Right Time,” “Someone Always Loved You,”  “Beyond the Bars.” She plans to continue the Dandelion story into a series and looks forward to her first children's book release “Baby Sheep Gets a Haircut” in June 2016. Looking Out the Window: Go Behind the Scenes at Christian Indie Author and Reader Group. Meet Samantha Fury and Pastor George McVey

A Warm Welcome to Samantha Fury and Pastor George McVey

What fun to go behind the scenes of Christian Indie Authors Readers Group!

If you aren’t a member check out the Facebook link below to join

Hi Samantha, thanks for joining us. Are you and Pastor McVey the administrators for Christian Indie Authors Readers Group?  If not, what role does each of you play?

We are two of the seven administrators that keep the Christian Indie Authors Network afloat. I started the CIA groups in 2010 and one small forum turned into two websites and over 20 Facebook groups.
(Pastor George) PG was one of our first members and has always operated as a spiritual director and firm supporter of the Christian Indie publishing platform. Like most passionate people, he kept offering to help Sam out with the constantly growing Network. He likes to tell people he is the guy who does what needs doing. IF you thank him you're likely to get his typical response "That's what I do here."
Samantha, what inspired you to start such a group?
The idea for the CIA readers group came to me in prayer one day. I had a vision of sorts to place an ad at the end of our novels inviting readers to join one group. Then the thought came, in order for authors to join they would need to have this same ad at the end of their novels also. For some that can’t edit their books we allow them to share via their blogs and or websites with a html code. But we still prefer every author that can, to place our small ad in the back of the books they want to share in our Readers group.

What is your goal for the group?
Our goal is to gain more readers every week and we are hitting that goal. Our second goal is to help people see through fiction that God loves them, that yes, being a Christian is hard but that we can do all things through Christ if we just trust him and read his word.  Some people will never read a Bible or go to church but they will read fiction and that is where we can reach a multitude of souls.

What do you love about having the group?
I love that it’s a way for us to meet people that we would have never known. It’s a way to connect up front and personal with readers. They get to ask us questions and now and then they get some free reads too. The best thing is that we are sharing God’s word to a dying a lost world. True most of our readers are Christians but they feel lost at times, and I just hope that reading one of our good clean novels will uplift them in some way.
Are you looking for any particular type book?
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is our source of truth. Jesus Christ, God's only Son, came as a man but was still fully God. He was tempted but lived without sin, died, was buried, and rose again as the perfect sacrifice for sin. He lives today to intercede for us. We are looking for good clean books that reflect this message in some way.

How many readers belong to the group? How many authors?
(Samantha) To be honest I just at the end of last year started keeping track, but since Dec 28th, 2015 until now we’ve added 145 readers.  We have a lot of authors that are readers too so I would be afraid to guess how many of our over 700 members are authors.

(Pastor George)What we can say is that we have 41 authors or bloggers who are authorized to post about their work on our group because they have included the ad in either their books or on their sites. If any other author or blogger out there wants to be allowed to do the same they can contact any of the administrators to find out how to be approved.

Why would you advise an author or reader to belong to the group?
For authors, it’s a great place to share your work. We have some of the best Christian Authors in the business. Our group is unique because we cater to the reader. We don’t allow discussions on the group wall unless it’s something that would interest a reader. We don’t focus on Author related issues.  For readers, we are very grateful to our readers and we often award prizes, and free books. We have Reader of the month, and also we have moments that we shine the light on our authors, by awarding them cover of the month author, etc.

What has been your most rewarding experience since starting Christian Indie Authors Readers Group?
For Me, Pastor George, the most rewarding experience is having new readers find my books and then start asking when the next one will be out. I think all our authors feel that way. Also those times when a reader or author gets serious and asks for prayer and I get the awesome privilege of praying with them and for them or having them PM me off group with a prayer need or spiritual question. I don't want to speak for Sam here but for me I am thankful that God made this group a part of the larger online ministry he has trusted me with.

What has been your most fun time since starting it?
The most fun for Me, Pastor George again, is getting to fill the role of interviewer for our Author Google Hangouts. That and sharing snippets and interacting with our awesome readers.  Samantha and I both would like to thank you for taking time to interview us and for including the Readers Group on your website. We're thankful to have great authors like you in our group, who are willing to share about our growing readers group.

It's my pleasure to have you! Thank you for the kind words!

If you are a Reader you can join our Readers group. here,, but if you are an author we would rather you join our Entry group because all authors must be approved before joining. We need to read some of your reviews and make sure that your books go along with our group standards.  Which is this, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is our source of truth. Jesus Christ, God's only Son, came as a man but was still fully God. He was tempted but lived without sin, died, was buried, and rose again as the perfect sacrifice for sin. He lives today to intercede for us. Any books posted in this group should reflect this message in some way.  If you're an Author and would like to share your books with our readers please learn more here,

Looking Out the Window: Find Out What Gay Lewis's Dyslexic, Bumbling Angel Sarah's Up to Now in Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island

A Warm Welcome to Gay Lewis
Gay will give away a Kindle e-book of Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island. To enter to win leave a comment and an e-mail address below.

Hi Gay, first, tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a retired interior designer, a current pastor’s wife, and mother to grown children. Two daughters live near me in Texas, and one moved to Kentucky. I’m in a small town west of Houston but drive to the city for shopping. My driving record scares everyone, including me. As I write this, my husband is in the garage trying to repair my latest scrape with the side of our garage.

Many writers loved to read as children. How about you? If so, what did you read?
I grew up in Texas and hated heat. As a child, I stayed indoors with a book, magazine, anything I could get my hands on. I read the Louisa May Alcott books many times over. I also loved Nancy Drew. Today the books I choose are usually romance or paranormal. I just finished Saint Odd: An Odd Thomas Novel by Dean Koontz. This was the last in the Odd Thomas series and I’m upset that Mr. Koontz ended the series. Odd Thomas was a hoot.

Let’s talk about your writing. Why do you write?
I’ve been a writer for years, but I wrote for religious periodicals. I’ve also produced a travel series. I now write fantasy, romance, and sometimes add a bit of mystery to my stories. When the idea of a bumbling, dyslexic angel came to mind, I had to write about her mishaps as she tried to help humans. Some of the things that happen to Sarah I’ve endured myself. Especially the driving episodes.

Tell us about your latest book.
Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island is the newest edition in Sarah’s adventures. The idea of a cruise came from one of my own experiences. Several years ago, I worked in retail, and no one could take a vacation after September 1. My dad died in August. My husband couldn’t leave church responsibilities, so I took a cruise to Catalina Island by myself. The trip helped with my grief. The small, compact cabin was something I could handle while the rest of my life spun out of control.  This book has Carolyn Baker facing the same circumstance. Her dad died, and she travels alone.  Sarah brightened her life and befriended her aboard the ship. And Sarah, being the bumbler she is, brought Carolyn smiles. Sarah’s antics will make the reader laugh. All my books contain a lot of humor. A reader once wrote this on a review. “Gay provides inspiration and teaches Christian principals in an entertaining way.”

Ahh, thanks for sharing. Does your faith affect your writing? If so, how?
My faith is the fiber of my being. I began a relationship with Jesus when I was six years old and surrendered for special service when I was eight. At the age of seventeen, I met my husband. We dated six months and married. I’ve been a pastor’s wife ever since. By the way, our wedding took place in a Dallas hospital. After accepting a church in Oklahoma, hubby returned to Irving and asked me to marry him. I said yes, but I wanted to wait until my mom was released from the hospital. His reply? “I told the church I was bringing a wife in three weeks.” So…we said our vows in a hospital on a Thursday night, moved my things into a trailer on Friday, drove to Oklahoma on Saturday, and on Sunday, hubby preached his first sermon—just as he’d promised the church he’d do. Can you believe I did that in three weeks? My hubby is a doer and never procrastinates. Knowing I was meant for service gave me momentum to hurry up the ceremony.

What is the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?
We had just moved to a new pastorate in Texas, and I’d been invited to speak at a couple’s retreat. I had directions to the location, but like my angel character Sarah, I’m a little dyslexic when it comes to following them. I entered what I thought was the correct street.  Problem? It wasn’t a roadway. I’d straddled my car between two rails of a railroad track! I drove forward, then backward, tried turning the wheel to left and right…nothing. I was stuck. I jumped out of my car and a lady offered to take me to the police station. I told the officer about my situation and he managed to stop an oncoming train just in time. I called hubby and when he arrived, he asked the officer, “Sir, did you test her to see if she’d been drinking?” Of course he was kidding, but my reputation as a whacky preacher’s wife grew instantly.

Thank goodness, they arrived in time. I see you have good fodder for many of the Sarah books. Introduce us to the main character in Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island.
Carolyn Baker, mid-twenties, is a college student with a job at a mall. She lives in the Houston area and has no boyfriend, but she’s lonely and grieving. Two men immediately become infatuated with her. Sarah must help Carolyn find the eman who is right for her.

What sort of hindrances does Sarah face on this mission?

For the first time ever, she must deal with a wicked spirit by the name of Talen. Talen is sent by his boss from the under-world, and his mission is to keep Carolyn from uniting with the correct man.  Talen tricks Sarah into leaving her charge and tries to destroy her on Cloud Nine. Tomas, the Warrior Angel, comes to Sarah’s rescue.

I enjoyed writing this Sarah book.  I used many of my own experiences from the cruise I took alone.  I hope readers will like it as well.

Thanks Gail for hosting me on your blog. You ask great questions!

It’s my pleasure!

About Sarah and a Midnight Cruise to Catalina Island
She can fly but can she swim? Dyslexic and bumbling angel, Sarah, comes to earth to unite Carolyn with a mate. Poopty doopty! She must do it on a ship while Carolyn cruises to Catalina Island. Sarah fears falling into the ocean, and she’s horrified soggy wings will drown her.  On this mission, Talen, an evil spirit is assigned to thwart Heaven’s Little Love Angel’s efforts. Tomas, the Warrior Angel, must protect Sarah. Can Tomas succeed without Sarah goofing up the war between the holy and unholy spirits? Will Talen succeed in spoiling Carolyn’s romance?

God Bless American

The patriotism, values and ideals behind this song are barely burning, but may the flicker light a fire in those who love America, and may this song never grow old.

Thanks to all who've served and the many who died to preserve the freedom we enjoy in the United States of America. May we use that freedom to glorify God.
