MEET CAMMIE O'SHEA
THE HEROINE OF
LOVE TURNS THE TIDE
Cammie, tell us a little about yourself: Previously a feature writer for a newspaper in Cedar Forks, Georgia, I've moved to Destin, Florida, to take a new job at The Sun Dial newspaper. I've also broken up with my fiance, the no-good louse, Jay Marias. Right now, I'm doing a lot of soul searching, trying to make sense of my situation and seeking peace through my faith.
Oh dear, have you found anything interesting or fun in Destin? Unfortunately, I know no one here, but I'm looking forward to meeting new friends. I do walk on the beach, watch the sandpipers and sea gulls, and marvel at the sun casting its reddish, golden tints over the emerald green water.
That's a start. What do you dread doing most? For my first assignment at The Sun Dial I have to write a big feature about Vic Deleona, Destin's most influential real estate developer. Every time I think I've finished his article he asks for another business appointment. He's extremely handsome, and I think he's interested in me. But, more than anything else in the world right now, I fear getting hurt again, so the thing I dread most is keeping an appointment with Vic.
Hmmm, so your're afraid of being hurt again? Yes, I never imagined anyone could experience the pain I endured, when I found out that monster Jay not only dated other women while we were engaged, no less, but that he beat one of them nearly to death.
So, now what do want most out of life? I'm just trying to make it from one day to the next. The thing I want most is to successfully complete my temporary assignment with The Sun Dial and return home, where I at least know that my friends and family love me.
Is your faith an important part of your life? Absolutely! Without my faith in God I couldn't cope with the heartache I have from the split-up with Jay, who deceived me so badly. Not to mention that I'm trying to meet people and make my way in a place that's strange to me.
Other than your faith, what's the most important thing to you? Love, especially right now. I need the love of close friends and family.
Do you enjoy reading? If so, what genre do you like? I read my daily devotional book and my Bible, but as far as commercial books go, I'll say romance and mystery.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? That's easy. I'd make this shell that I'm building around myself so hard no one could even knick it, because I never want anyone to get close enough to me to hurt me again.
Oh dear, how about pets? Do you have a pet? No, but I feed the ducks that swim on the lake near my condo. And I love watching the sea gulls, herons, pelicans and sandpipers in Destin.
If you could travel back in time where would you go and why? I'd travel back to when I met Jay, so I could walk away from him before he broke my heart.

You hang in there, Cammie. I do believe good things are going to happen to you in Destin. :)
I can't wait to get my award!
And Miss Mae,
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with Cammie.
Sounds like Cammie is on the right road. She'll make it 'cause she's tough and seeks the Lord.
Like Miss Mae, my favorite line was, "I'd walk away from Jay before he broke my heart."
The story sounds a little like one of the four, Ha! I'm working on. The hubby is a philanderer who dies in a car accident with his sweet, young secretary. Hm-mmmmm.
Our storylines do sound similar.
Thanks for stopping by.
