Lots of writers grew up with reading as a favorite pasttime. Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read?

As a child, I read everything I could get my hands on.  I particularly enjoyed mysteries and was a big fan of Nancy Drew.

I was a big Nancy Drew fan also, but about your writing. Tell us about your latest book.

Secrets, book #4 in my Wounded Heroes series is Caleb 'Digger' Malone's story.  After being wounded in Afghanistan, he returns to the states and takes a job in his brother's private investigations agency. His first solo assignment is a simple 'snap a few photos of a cheating fiancé case'. But as Caleb learned in the army, nothing is ever that simple. Hired by the father of the future bride, Caleb quickly realizes someone wants the woman dead.

Oh wow! What a revelation. Where do you get ideas for your books?

All sorts of places. Dreams, things I've seen on television or in movies. People I've met.  For instance, after watching the movie Bonneville I came up with the idea for Reservations for Two.  Also, my Wounded Heroes series came about after meeting a woman who had served in Iraq.  Hearing about the problems she had adjusting to civilian life inspired the series.

What a wonderful source of inspiration. What are you working on right now?

I currently have two projects in the works.  Malice is the sequel to Ties That Bind, and Vengeance, book #5 in my Wounded Heroes series.

What would you be doing if you weren’t writing?

When I'm not in my writers cave I enjoy spending time with family, or doing something outdoors like hiking and camping.  I also like to travel.

Thanks for sharing with us.

1 ½ c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 ½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 (17 oz.) can applesauce
6 oz. chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients except chips. Beat at high speed for 1 minute. Pour into a greased sheet cake pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

Oh yum, and the applesauce would make them so moist!

To Nourish the Soul - Two of Anne's Many Favorite Bible Verses

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

"Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." (NIV)

Anne, I used to make applesauce brownies. But with only my hubs and me, I don't spend much time in the kitchen now. This sounds like a wonderful series.

Well, I have brown eyes and blondish hair, I’m 5’1” tall, and weigh…. Thank the Lord those tidbits aren’t what you’re looking for! My dad worked for the Veterans Administration, so the family lived in a slew of cities. I held a myriad of careers to pay my way through school, and all that working and moving is probably responsible for my ability to talk to just about anybody, anywhere. For the past 20 years, though, I’ve lived in the same house and worked at the same job: Writing. And I love both. Being a people person is definitely a plus. Were you an avid reader as a ...

That’s an interesting question because usually I rely on my imagination for inspiration. This plot, however, has one particular element that actually happened to me.
