I'm so happy to see Spring. Here's a poem to celebrate.
It was originally published in
Best New Poets of 1988.
COUNTRY SPRING
For a peek at heaven,
God gave us a country spring.
where soft winds dance on open fields
and gently caress golden daffodils
nodding, nodding, nodding...
they seem to say,
"Welcome, bright new day."
Gentle drops of morning dew
kiss the roses and honeysuckle too.
Each sweet bloom
has its own perfume.
Yellow bells mark the way
for radiant colors bursting
into each new day,
The rhododendron, pink, or
fair lilies white.
It's all nature's delight.
