Some say Christ wasn’t born on
December 25th. They claim Christians took the date from a Roman
holiday to rival the pagan feasts that took place during the Winter Solstice.
This occasion honored a new age brought by the sun. Depending on location, the
Winter Solstice occurs on or around December 25th. However, it’s not
the date we celebrate. It’s Christ’s life, His Gospel of love and sacrifice.
“For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3: 16 –
17)
“…They will condemn him to death and will turn him
over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day
he will be raised to life.” (Matthew 20: 18 - 19)
Christ’s gift to us—eternal life!
“Where, O death, is thy victory... ’’(I Corinthians
15:55)
Christ lives today!
“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age.” (Matthew 28: 20)
Christmas is when we open our hearts to Him.
Celebrate the birth!
Honor the name, CHRIST, our Savior!
Sing it! Say it! Praise it! Shout it!
