I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, and award-winning author of historical romance novels for the Christian market. I’m a life-long resident of southern Indiana and, like The Time for Healing, most of my stories are set in my Hoosier State. Lots of writers liked to read as children. How about you? For The Sweet Tooth Josh and Mattie’s (and my husband’s) Favorite Peanut Butter Criss-Cross Cookies 1 cup shortening (or butter) 1cup granulated sugar 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup peanut butter 3 cups sifted all purpose flour 2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto an uncreased cookie sheet. press with the back of a wet fork to make a criss-cross.
