About Cooking up a Mystery

Laney Eskridge worked to put her husband through dental school. Then he left with another woman. She's on edge from the emotional scars and her parents' deaths. Then she hears unexplained noises in her new tea house, and her anxiety is tripled. Add a budding romance with Eric—a guy with a fear of commitment—and it's all too much to handle. She cuts ties with Eric and plunges into making her business pay off.
When Eric discovers that Laney's in danger, he vows to protect her. But can he make a lasting promise? Will she trust him? . . .and when they overhear a threat that could cause national turmoil, will anyone believe them? There's more brewing than herbal tea in Cooking up a Mystery.

Pure Fun and Some Recipes Too. A 5-star review.  Just what I needed, a fun read! The romance and mystery seamlessly intertwined to produce a wonderful, cohesive book. I dove into this book and it captured me from the very beginning. I was sad for Laney for all her previous struggles and losing her mom. Sad when she ended the relationship with Eric. I really like Eric, the character in the book is very intriguing. I was so happy for Laney when she opened the Tea House and to see her making progress in making the Business successful. Laney shows the reader she is a STRONG woman despite the setbacks in life. I really LOVED the recipes included throughout the book. Tea House food is so delectable and I want to try a few of the recipes from the book. Gail Pallotta has a GREAT writing style and Cooking Up a Mystery is a COZY read! GREAT BOOK! familymgrkendra on Amazon

My Thoughts: This was such a great story. It has the small-town feel, with the warmth and familiarity of all the characters. This is a story of healing and letting go, with a good side dish of trust. Then there is the mystery; this book will keep the reader in suspense until the very end. This truly is an action-packed novel that was a joy and fun to read. I certainly look forward to reading more from this author soon. There is a surprise at the end for the readers. maryannb on Amazon
