What's Your Love Story?

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day—the day we celebrate love.  Everyone loves a love story—even if you don’t want to admit it. But since it was Valentine’s day, it’s OK to admit this time.

My latest release, Walking Through the Rain is Rachel and Brandon’s love story. And as Shakespeare said, the course of true love never did run smooth. Truer words couldn’t be spoken about Rachel and Brandon. I’m not going to give the plot away, but I will tell you that both of their mothers aren’t happy about their relationship so…. You can imagine what happens next.

Like I said, everybody loves a love story so I’ll tell you mine.

I’ve sort of known my husband my whole life. His brother was married to my aunt. NO, we aren’t related to each other. Anyway…As a teenager, I had a crush on him  but he was a few years older than me.  He went off to the service while I finished high school then college.

Fast forward twenty some years and we reconnected .And what a reconnection it was! We’ve been married twenty-two years and have a wonderful marriage. We’ve been through lots of ups and downs, mostly health issues, but he still makes me laugh. I’m so grateful we reconnected.

So what’s your love story?

Share your love story with us today as we celebrate love.

About Walking Through the Rain

Rachel and Brandon are teenagers when they fall in love and make big plans for their future. But plans don't always pan out in reality.

Brandon' s mother has big plans for her son' s future as well, but they don' t include a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Sara Withers believes she knows what' s best for Brandon.

She'll do anything to make sure that happens.

Life hasn't been kind to Rachel' s mother. Amanda Stickley works hard to keep a roof over their heads and she wants a better life for Rachel, so when Brandon' s mother offers her money to keep Rachel and Brandon apart, she agrees— reluctantly. She believes the money will help her give Rachel the life she deserves.

Both mothers want what' s best for their child.
Both mothers are wrong.

Only strength, time, and a strong faith in God can untwist the lies and deception that drive a wedge between Rachel and Brandon and threaten to affect their entire lives.

Bio:  Lillian Duncan… turning faith into fiction.

For years, my tagline was “stories of faith mingled with murder & mayhem” since I wrote Christian suspense and mystery novels.

In 2012, I heard the words, “you have bilateral brain tumors.”

I had no idea how much those words would change my life, but they did. When life changes for a writer, their writing changes as well. So I wanted my tagline to reflect the new me. I still love to write suspense and mystery novels but also have branched out into other genres.

In spite of being diagnosed with bilateral brain tumors and a rare genetic disease (Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), God continues to strengthen me and give me peace and joy as well as the blessing to be able to continue to write.

I’m a multi-published author who lives in the middle of Ohio Amish country with my husband and a menagerie of pets. After more than 30 years working as a speech pathologist for children, I believe in the power of words to transform lives, especially God’s Word.

My goal is to write stories that entertain but also demonstrate God’s love for all of us.

Looking Out the Window: Memories on the Heart

Several weeks ago my husband, Rick, and I ate at a restaurant we frequent fairly regularly. The cute, young waitress who usually waits on us took our orders for burgers and fries. I’ll call her Mandy. As usual Mandy’s smile and bubbly personality brightened our day. We giggled and confessed to her that we shouldn’t eat the fries, but we were going to do it just this once. She joked. “Okay, you’re being bad today.” Not long after we got our food a couple came in and sat in the booth behind us. Mandy walked up to the table with her big grin. “Hi, how are you?” she asked. The man, who had salt and pepper colored hair and a pudgy face, spoke in a harsh tone, “I want the steak.” “Sure, which one would you like?” Mandy asked. “I don’t want you to put it in the microwave. That will make it tough. Do you understand?” Mandy’s lips turned down. “Yes sir, which one do you want to order?” “I want it medium rare. I don’t want blood oozing out of it. I want it cooked right.” “Yes sir, which steak di

It's my pleasure.  I’m happy to share with you a Bible verse and a recipe, and tell you about my newest book! One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 10:9.  “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” I love this verse because it distills down the message of Christianity to its simplest elements. So often people add to the gospel, but it really all comes down to our belief in Jesus’ saving work on the cross. This verse tends to make its way into my writing. It’s in my latest novel, Moonlight and Mystery, when the heroine, Beth attends a carnival at a

We have two sons and six grandchildren. We live in PA, between two mountains.   Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read? Oh yes! Not only did I read a lot, but my mom also read to me and my brothers. I remember books like Encyclopedia Brown, Trixie Beldon, Little House on the Prairie, Nancy Drew, and lots of Snoopy/Peanuts books. :)   Why do you write? Because it’s something I feel God has called me to do. Tell us about your latest book. Enoch Valentine has given up finding peace for his past mistakes.
