Looking in the Window: Finding, Accepting the Love of Jesus

Of all of the types of love—love of child, love of husband, father, mother, friend and on and on—Jesus’s unconditional love reigns.

He loved each of us so much He suffered and died for our sins to guarantee our salvation.

If we believe in Him and accept His gift, someday we’ll live with Him in Heaven where there’s no sorrow, pain or any frustrations of this world.

Jesus’ Gospel of Love resounds like a clanging symbol to all who seek it. Here it is in a nutshell:

“Trying to test Jesus, a Pharisee asked him “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 34 – 40

But where do we get love? So far, no scientists have been able to create it. We can’t buy it, and no one can force it into our hearts. Some have said it comes from chemicals in our brains. If so, where do the love chemicals come from? The scientists haven’t said.

Jesus didn’t just die. He rose from the dead.

Jesus lives with us today. Made in man’s image, but with the spirit of God, Jesus is the only perfect person to ever live on earth. Learning His word and living by it honors Him and puts us on a path lined with love. When we have a personal relationship with Jesus, He and His Gospel become a part of our lives. Then His love lives inside of us. To spread love, we must give and receive it from each other as Jesus’s second commandment says, “Love one another.”
