I went to church, alone if I had to. Attended churches of all denominations—trying to find the perfect one for me. I even took Bible Study courses through the mail. Probably my favorites were the Trixie Beldon series and Victoria Holt mysteries. As a young wife and mother I had my romance period as well. From there I moved to Science fiction and fantasy.
