Looking out the Window: Romance Author Karen Cogan Talks about Her Book, Made for Each Other, and Gives away FREE copies of Forget Me Not
In the long run, it is not as expensive as buying a fresh tree each year, nor is it as messy. I can put up the synthetic tree and take it down without thousands of needles covering the floor. It does not prick me, and it never dries out from lack of water because it was never alive. It is simple and convenient.
However, I miss the fragrance of a live tree and the spicy aroma of pine that filled the
house. One year, I bought a can of spray, thinking to duplicate the scent. Yet, it was not the
same.
I still prefer the real tree, even though it comes with a price. I began to compare it to an authentic Christian life. In order not to dry out, believers must refresh themselves by communion with Christ, the Living Water. We are called to carry the fragrance of Christ to a world that prefers the stench of sin. Following Christ can be as painful as sharp needles when it evokes criticism or self-recrimination when, though saved, we continue to sin. Despite the cost in worldly standards, the eternal reward is worth the price because, through Him, we reflect His light to a hurting world.

About Forget Me Not
Would you tell the man you love if your future could change everything?
Miranda
Wilkins is carrying more than a guarded heart. When her mother is diagnosed
with Huntington's disease, Miranda is forced to face a terrifying question she
never expected to ask: Has she inherited it too? Suddenly, everything she
thought she knew about her future—and her chance at love—hangs in the balance.
Paul
Green sees past Miranda's carefully guarded heart and offers her the kind of
love she's always longed to find.
And
that's exactly why she has to push him away.
Because
loving him would mean telling him the truth. And telling him might mean losing

As
Miranda struggles to protect Paul's future without destroying their chance at
love, she'll have to decide whether fear is worth sacrificing the life they
could build together.
