Happiness is seldom where you look for it.
Sometimes where you find it,
but always where you make it.

There aren’t many words of wisdom more appropriate for 2020 than these, and there aren’t any reasons for happiness better than the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Even in the dark times of our lives Jesus shines His light on us and lives within us bringing joy beyond that of the world. Once we’ve accepted Him and allowed Him to ignite His love in us, even the shadows lurking in society cannot blot it out.
Colossians 3: 1- 3, tells us “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
In John 17: 14 - 19, when Jesus prays for his disciples, he says, “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; the word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.”
This tells me no matter what’s happening in the world, Jesus takes care of His people. We can pin our hope and happiness on that.
He loves us so much He came into the world to die for our sins, so that we might have eternal life.

He was crucified dead and buried.
“We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified...” Matthew 20: 17 - 18
He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2: 22 - 24
But He rose from the dead...
“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” Matthew 28: 5
And gave us Eternal Life
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Nothing and no one can overcome a force as good and powerful as Jesus. Let's look to Him. He will give us peace and happiness within even in the darkest of times.
