Hi Jodie, first, tell us a little about yourself.
My husband and I have been
married for almost thirty-six years. We have two sons and six grandchildren. We
live in PA, between two mountains.
Were you an avid reader as a child? If so, what did you read?
Oh yes! Not only did I read a
lot, but my mom also read to me and my brothers. I remember books like
Encyclopedia Brown, Trixie Beldon, Little House on the Prairie, Nancy Drew, and
lots of Snoopy/Peanuts books. :)
Why do you write?
Because it’s something I feel
God has called me to do.
Enoch Valentine has given up finding peace for his past mistakes. He throws everything he has into being the new part-time deputy in Burrton Springs, Kansas while maintaining the foreman position at a local horse ranch. But when trouble stirs on the ranch, he questions whether he's the right man for either job.
Peace has been elusive for most of Gertrude Miller's life, especially under the
oppressiveness of an overbearing mother. She takes matters into her own hands
and sends for a potential husband, while also opening her own dress shop.
Gertrude hopes to build a future where she'll find peace and happiness.
Will either of them ever be able to find peace?

Let's talk more about your writing process. In three words describe your style of writing.
Quirky, hopeful, historical
What themes do you write about?
My themes often depend on
what God has recently taught me or is in the process of teaching me.
What is your writing schedule and where do you write?
I write in a converted
bedroom. When my youngest moved out, we decided to convert his old bedroom into
an office for me. I try to work on writing related activities throughout the week.
Are you a plotter or a pantzer?
I often consider myself a
plotzer. :) Part plotter and part pantzer.

Does your faith affect your writing? If so, how?
My faith is an integral part
of my life, so it also is the same in my writing. It organically spills over
into all aspects of my life and writing.
What are you working on right now?
I just recently turned in the
final book in this series. I’m currently working on researching a book set
during the Civil War time, which I’ve never done before. My husband and I
recently attended a Civil War ball so I could learn more about the era.
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Trust God’s timing. Sometimes
it takes a while, but His timing is ALWAYS best.
What would you be doing if you weren’t writing?
Reading, walking, knitting, or
spending time with my husband.
