Looking out the Window: Award-winning Author Victoria Simcox Talks about her Young Readers Series The Ivy Files. Shares Why She Believes in Jesus

A Warm Welcome to Victoria Simcox

Voctoria explains why she believes Jesus is real. She also talks about her latest series, The Ivy Files, written for young readers, but enjoyed by all ages nine and up.

How do you know Jesus is real?

"The reality of Jesus is confirmed by Scripture, the fulfillment of prophecy, and the witness of His resurrection. I hold that true faith is built upon the objective certainty of God's unchanging Word, not subjective emotion. It is through the Means of Grace that Christ continues to impart forgiveness, life, and salvation. In times of trial and doubt, His presence remains constant, faithful, and working within the community of believers."

Why do you believe in Jesus?

I believe in Jesus because He is the Son of God who came to save sinners through His death and resurrection. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone—not by works. Jesus fulfilled the Law perfectly and took humanity’s punishment upon Himself on the cross. Through Him, I have forgiveness, hope, and eternal life, all given as a free gift from God.

Why do you think Jesus told us to love one another?

Jesus told us to love one another because love reflects God’s mercy toward us. Christians do not earn salvation by loving others, but because they have already received God’s grace, they are called to serve their neighbors in humility and compassion. This applies everywhere, including family life, friendships, and the workplace, because Christians are meant to show Christ’s kindness and truth in all areas of life.

Tell us about a time when Jesus intervened in your life.

There have been times of fear, uncertainty, and hardship when I felt overwhelmed, yet God provided peace, strength, and unexpected answers every time. Jesus still works through His Word, prayer, and the care of humanity. While not every intervention is dramatic, I trust that Christ guides, protects, and sustains me and all His people according to His will.
